The more useful lens for most aspirants: which companies recruit from which campus, and in what volumes. Consulting concentrations range from 32% (IIM Indore) to 44% (IIM Bangalore). Finance concentrations are highest at IIM Calcutta. Technology is strongest at IIM Indore. Match your sector target to the campus that recruits most heavily in it.
What Changes Year to Year
The relative ordering of old IIMs has been stable for a decade. What changes annually is the macro hiring environment — consulting firms pull back in downturns, tech firms surge in booms. The 2025 season was a strong one across the board. The 2026 batch graduates in 2027 — plan accordingly.
