What is the GMAT?
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is the world's most widely used exam for MBA and graduate business school admissions — accepted by 7,700+ programs across 110+ countries. Conducted by GMAC, the current version is the GMAT Focus Edition.
GMAT Eligibility Criteria
GMAC has one of the most open eligibility policies of any major exam — almost anyone can register.
Minimum age is 18 years. Candidates between 13–17 years can appear with written parental or guardian consent submitted to GMAC. There is no upper age limit.
No specific academic qualification is required to register for the GMAT. However, individual business schools set their own admission requirements — most require a Bachelor's degree.
Not mandatory for the GMAT exam itself. However, most top MBA programs (ISB, INSEAD, LBS) prefer 2–5 years of work experience. Fresh graduates can apply for MiM or MSBA programmes.
You can attempt the GMAT up to 5 times in a rolling 12-month period, with a mandatory gap of 16 days between attempts. Lifetime limit is 8 attempts. Perfect scorers cannot retake for 5 years.
A valid passport is mandatory for Indian candidates. The name on your mba.com account must exactly match your passport. Aadhaar, PAN, and driving licence are not accepted.
GMAT scores are valid for 5 years from the date of the exam. You can use your score for multiple MBA application cycles without retaking the exam.
GMAT Exam Dates 2026
Unlike CAT, the GMAT has no fixed exam date — it is available year-round at 600+ test centres globally and online. You choose your date.
GMAT has no fixed dates. Book your slot on mba.com as early as possible — popular centres fill up fast during Oct–Nov. You can reschedule up to 24 hours before, but cancellation fees apply.
Top Colleges — Score & Placements
GMAT scores are accepted by 7,700+ programs worldwide. Below are the most targeted by Indian students — with typical GMAT score requirements and latest placement data.

Schools are still transitioning their stated cutoffs — these are typical admitted candidate ranges, not official minimums. GMAT Focus Edition — What's Tested
The GMAT Focus Edition has three sections, no AWA, and a shorter overall duration. Here's exactly what we prepare you for.
Tests arithmetic, algebra, geometry and word problems. No data sufficiency in the Focus Edition — pure problem solving with higher difficulty ceiling.
Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning only. Sentence Correction is removed from the Focus Edition. Emphasis on argument analysis and inference.
Brand new section combining Data Sufficiency, Multi-Source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation, and Two-Part Analysis. Tests integrated reasoning.

What GMAT Students Say
Being a part of GradSKOOL has been a completely different learning experience. Each class is structured so a topic feels truly completed. The pre-class videos, live session, PDFs, and quiz — this end-to-end flow gives real confidence. Learning from ALP sir is something special. He explains every topic from multiple perspectives and builds the right way of thinking, not just the right answers. The personal mentorship is the most valuable part — I have reached out for academic and professional guidance, and he always has the right solution. That level of genuine concern is rare.
I wanted to take an MBA exam when I found ALP Sir, and he guided me towards GMAT. I had never studied for it before, but these sessions changed everything — I never felt overwhelmed. What makes it different is the interaction. It feels nothing like a recorded lecture or a crowded classroom. Every session is focused on your pace and weak spots. Whenever I got stuck mid-session, I could ask directly and it was addressed right there. I feel like I'm in safe hands. If you're serious about your MBA journey, ALP Sir is the person you need.
GMAT Course — FAQs
Everything you need to know before joining the GMAT cohort.
The GMAT Focus Edition is the current version of the GMAT, launched in 2023. It has three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights. Total score range is 205–805. The exam takes approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. There is no AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) in the Focus Edition. GRADSKOOL's curriculum is built exclusively for this format.
On the GMAT Focus Edition (205-805 scale): ISB Hyderabad typically sees averages of 655+. IIM Ahmedabad PGPX averages around 665+. For top global programmes — Wharton, LBS, INSEAD — 675+ is competitive. GRADSKOOL prepares students targeting 700–730+ with a structured, analysis-driven approach rather than rote preparation.
Most students need 3–5 months of structured preparation. For a working professional targeting 700+, 4 months with 1.5–2 hours daily is the realistic baseline. GRADSKOOL's cohort is designed around working professional schedules — evening sessions, recorded access, and a pace that accounts for work commitments.
GRADSKOOL focuses on GMAT preparation — score improvement is the primary goal. School selection guidance and application essays are outside the programme scope. We can help you think through target programmes based on your profile and score, but dedicated application consulting is a separate engagement.
GRADSKOOL includes full-length GMAT Focus Edition mocks with detailed post-test analysis. The focus is on analysing your reasoning patterns — not just tracking scores. Quant, Verbal and Data Insights performance is broken down by question type and difficulty.
Yes — the GRADSKOOL GMAT programme starts from fundamentals. There is no assumed prior GMAT knowledge. If you are strong in one section and weaker in another, the programme is structured enough to address both systematically. First-time GMAT students are common in every cohort.
