What is CUET UG?

CUET (Common University Entrance Test) UG is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for undergraduate admissions to all 45 central universities in India — including Delhi University, BHU, JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia, and the University of Hyderabad. It has replaced Class 12 board percentage as the primary admissions criterion. Scoring high in CUET is now the single most important factor for getting into DU and other top central universities.

Language — 13 Languages

Reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and verbal reasoning in the candidate's chosen language. Available in 13 languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Urdu, Assamese, Odia, and Malayalam. Required by most DU programmes.

Language — 19 Additional

19 additional languages for candidates who need to demonstrate proficiency in a specific medium required by their target university or programme. Includes Sanskrit, Kashmiri, Sindhi, Konkani, Nepali, Maithili, Dogri, Bodo, Santhali, and others. Required only for certain language-specific programmes.

Domain Subjects

The most critical section for most applicants. Choose up to 6 domain subjects from 27 options including Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Political Science, Geography, Psychology, and more. Universities specify which domain subjects are required for each programme.

General Test

General Knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical aptitude, quantitative reasoning, and logical reasoning. Required by programmes like B.Com, BMS, BBA at DU and by several other central universities for their interdisciplinary programmes. The GRADSKOOL General Test mocks cover all these areas comprehensively.

Practice = Percentile

CUET UG is not a knowledge test — it's a speed and accuracy test. The questions are based on NCERT content, but the pace required (40–60 questions in 45–60 minutes) means students who haven't practised in timed conditions consistently underperform. Full-length mocks are the most effective preparation tool.

Top Universities Accepting CUET UG

Every central university in India is now mandated to use CUET UG for admissions. Here are the most targeted institutions and the programmes most students apply for.

🏛️

DU is the primary target for most CUET aspirants. Delhi University's top colleges — SRCC, Hindu, Hansraj, Lady Shri Ram, St. Stephen's — all admit exclusively through CUET. A strong CUET score is now the only variable that matters for DU admissions.

Frequently Asked Questions

CUET UG (Common University Entrance Test — Undergraduate) is conducted by NTA for admissions to all 45 central universities and 200+ other universities across India. For Delhi University, CUET has completely replaced Class 12 board marks as the admissions criterion — your percentage no longer matters. Only your CUET score determines which DU college and programme you get. This makes CUET the single most important exam for students targeting DU, BHU, JNU, and other central universities.

It depends on your target university and programme. Most DU programmes require Section IA (Language) + Section II (Domain subjects relevant to your programme) + Section III (General Test — required for B.Com, BMS, BBA programmes). Check the university-specific section requirements on the CUET portal before registering. You can choose up to 6 domain subjects in Section II — choose only those required by your target programmes.

CUET UG questions are based on NCERT content — so most students feel they already know the material. The real challenge is speed and accuracy: 40–60 questions in 45–60 minutes with +5/−1 marking. Students who haven't practised under timed conditions consistently underperform — they run out of time or make careless errors under pressure. Full-length mocks replicate the exact CBT interface, time pressure, and question distribution so exam day feels routine rather than stressful.

CUET UG uses +5 for every correct answer and −1 for every wrong answer. Unanswered questions score 0. This means selective, high-accuracy attempts are more important than attempting every question. A wrong answer costs you 6 marks relative to a correct one (+5 vs −1). GRADSKOOL's mocks are built on this exact marking scheme so you develop the right attempt strategy during practice.

CUET at GRADSKOOL has three offerings — free tools (always available on the Tools page), online mocks at ₹999, and the complete Mocks + 8 Books package at ₹3,499. There are no live sessions for CUET — GRADSKOOL's live cohorts focus on CAT, GMAT, GRE, IPMAT, XAT, SNAP, NMAT, CMAT, and MH CET. WhatsApp us at +91 63605 97966 for any questions about the CUET UG 2026 package.

The GRADSKOOL CUET UG mock series covers the most popular domain subjects: Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Political Science, Geography, and Psychology. These cover the vast majority of DU and central university programme requirements. WhatsApp us at +91 63605 97966 to confirm coverage for your specific subject combination before purchasing.
